Off The Hook (Kidlington) - (Near Oxfordshire, South East)

Heffernan Noél (Noël) Recently, I was very fortunate enough to be invited by the owner of The Mayflower, in Kidlington, to a Chinese Banquet in his restaurant which is currently mainly known and used as a takeaway. The food was prepared by a renowned Oxford Chef, who previously was heavily involved in The Liaison, Paddyfields and the Tong San, these were all known for serving up the most amazing Traditional, Authentic, Cantonese dishes. He is now preparing this style of food and passing on his skills at The Mayflower on a pre-arranged basis. If you are thinking of having a special meal and think that this would be of interest, please contact the restaurant to arrange a meeting, with the owners, to discuss your requirements. The attached photos show a range of dishes, which although in this case included a number of seafood items, can be altered to suit individual needs. The meal that I have highlighted would cost between £50 and £60 per head and the minimum number would be 8 but 10 is ideal.

Ben Reed I work on the business park around the corner and Dave & Tracey are always so welcoming and lovely to speak to regardless of how busy they are. A great variety of food on offer with a personal favourite being the variety of options to have on a jacket spud (cooked all morning in their Jacket Potato oven). Ali Allen I visited for Sunday roast last week. Absolutely delicious, It was so wonderful, I went back again today. This time I chose the Sunday Indian menu. The food is absolutely faultless, superb standard of delicious Indian dishes, the staff are all wonderful, above and beyond! The restaurant is clean, fresh and inviting. And busy, but still calm and relaxing. So good to see a local establishment doing so well. Such good value at £20, and that includes as much as you eat. Can’t recommend it enough.

Sadek Ali I have visited this little hidden gem in Kidlington Oxford last Tuesday with friends for a banquet night and I was amazed how good and authentic the curry tasted and specially for £14.95 per person. 4 course this restaurant was jam packed and yet the ease of service and customer care given by the manager (mahfus )was a class. I strongly recommend diners to go ahead and enjoy this restaurant.

Carolina Stassis Have been coming here for special occasions for about 7 years. Great consistency in the quality, the kind of food you find in top restaurants in London. Worth every penny. Love everything on the menu. The fresh bread is excellent. Especially great in the Summer garden. Super cosy inside in the bay window seat by the bar. We love that it is dog friendly outside, and in the bar area too. Pictures are from different visits. Always great!

William Drake Absolutely brilliant service! Amazing pizza and really friendly. Sent my order via whatsapp and confirmed they take card payment. Brilliant selection of toppings. I would highly recommend this to anyone! Such good value, cant wait for my next visit!
