Nicola Ridley We had a gorgeous meal here- far exceeded any pub meal we have had in London for a long time. Could not recommend enough. We had the sea bass, pork with black pudding, creme brûlée and sticky toffee pudding- all 10/10! That, plus attentive service & a very sweet setting.

Vince Shepherd What a fantastic little place! The food is absolutely delicious. I have stopped here a few times when I am out with friends riding dirt bikes on the trails. It has a great little post office and a lovely little cafe/bistro, and the deli counter has such a variety of homemade goodies. I do highly recommend the spicy chili sausage roll. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. It is set in a lovely little country village. I have to say, it is a cool, cool place.

Jon R Tucked away in the charming village of Mildenhall, just outside Marlborough, The Horseshoe delivers a roast beef experience that’s nothing short of sublime. From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome and fresh, stylish decor set the tone for a perfect afternoon. The roast beef was the star of the show—tender, richly flavoured, and cooked to perfection. The Yorkshire puddings were golden and crisp, the roast potatoes beautifully seasoned with a satisfying crunch, and the vegetables? Surprisingly exceptional. Often overlooked, these were vibrant, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. And the gravy—oh, the gravy! Deeply savoury and clearly homemade, it tied everything together with finesse. Service was attentive and cheerful, even on a busy Sunday. If you’re craving a proper British roast with heart and flair, The Horseshoe is a must. Hats off to the team for creating a place that feels both elevated and welcoming. We’ll absolutely be back. PS chicken was good too.

Jon Townsend We had Sunday lunch at the Bell and it was a delight. Large portions of incredibly tasty food both meat and plant based. Good service and lovely village it sits in. Would recommend.

Vanessa Westwell In July, I had a slightly disappointing visit, and so I was impressed when The Funghi Club team invited me back to try again, on the house! Today was a sunny, Tuesday lunchtime and I chose to sit inside in the bar area for a change. It was quiet at 12.15pm, but it soon filled up with lots of happy ladies who lunch, and some couples and small family groups. There was quite a buzz! There is a quieter area at the back of the bar area, if you want a calmer atmosphere. Nicole and her team were all very friendly and welcoming. There was a lot to choose from on the Menu and Specials. In the end I chose the Daily Special, which was a generously sized portion of Tuna Nicoise Salad for £16.50. The fine green beans were cooked perfectly with a little crunch. The salad dressing was tasty. If you prefer your Tuna Steak to not have any pink in the middle, please let your Server know. To follow, I had a Raspberry Tarte from the extensive, chilled Patisserie Selection. It was the perfect combination of a generous topping of fresh raspberries, atop some creamy, creme patisserie and a light, crunchy, pastry case. When your Tarte pastry almost leaps off the plate at the first tap of the fork, you know its cooked perfectly! Thank you very much. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch.
