Rob Photo-Video First time having a toastie here at this mainstay of Newington Green. Delicious, dense homemade bread toasted for ages so the cheese forms a beautiful crust where it spills out. Very very nice. Loyalty card is a good idea. And they sell lots of cheese and loaves. I was served by Olivier, who is very helpful, charming and dedicated to the place where he works!

Gustavo Lourenco It was my first time visiting Filly Brook. As it was Sunday, I thought I’d book just to be sure, which is very easy to do via their website. I wanted to try their Sunday Roast and it was delicious. I paired it with their suggestion of red wine and it was a lovely combination. Nice atmosphere, great service and great food.

Sam We were served by Tomos who was an absolutely outstanding host. My partner and I have been watching Will & Jack on the Fallow YouTube channel for a while now and as big foodies it was at the top of our places to visit. The atmosphere hits you as soon as you walk in, the staff are super friendly and welcoming and there’s a real buzz about the place. It’s classy but not pretentious, you feel welcomed and at ease straight away. We booked the Chef’s table and my God it didn’t disappoint. You’re at the front and centre of the kitchen and it’s absolutely incredible to see the pace and precision that the kitchen team work to. Tomos introduced himself and talked us through the food and drinks menus whilst offering some great suggestions. He was a genuinely nice guy who was super knowledgeable about the products and dishes, he helped us choose our order and explained how the dishes would arrive, we then sat back and enjoyed the atmosphere of the kitchen, mesmerised by the skill of the chefs in front of us. Shortly after our drinks arrived which was very quickly followed up by the first of our dishes. The stand-outs were easily the Mushroom Parfait which is an absolute flavour bomb, the Cod’s head which was a real experience, the burger which is up there with some of the best in London and also the Chelsea Tart which is just indulgently delicious. We couldn’t recommend this place enough and now have a very special memory of dining here, we will absolutely be back. Thank you Tomos for making it so memorable.

Ambre Finley-Day We had our wedding reception at The Minnis on Nov 1st. From the very start when we began to plan, to the actual day, everything was just amazing. When we first went to view the function room (stunning views!!!) we met with Jess. Let me start by saying - she is incredible. She showed us around, explained how the day would run, how the tables would be laid out, when the food would come out etc. This was only a couple months before the actual day (we didn’t leave ourselves a lot of time, so the fact Jess made all of this possible in such a short space of time is even more impressive!). On the run up to the day I was in touch with Jess quite a lot (perhaps too much) to ask questions, send info, decide on food, etc and no task was too big for her. I could tell that Jess was looking forward to the day as much as we were and as a result of her care and excitement, it was just perfect. We dont live locally, about 2/3 hours drive away, so to have somebody so in control and knowledgeable was such a huge comfort. She made absolutely everything we requested possible. She is seriously a pro events manager and she is an absolute asset to the team here. We are so grateful to her!!! The food was delicious- we still get compliments and all the guests were so impressed! I met with the chef Charlotte a couple days before the wedding to go through timings, tables, who’s having what and again, it was all smooth sailing on the day. We are going to keep coming back whenever we come down to the coast because it really was amazing food. On the actual day, we had Alec and Alana on the bar, as well as Jess to ensure everything was going to plan, and, surprise surprise, it went perfectly. Alec and Alana were so friendly, personable, and helpful. After the meal, we had to fold down some tables to make space for the dance floor and this was so smoothly and seamlessly done people didn’t even realise it was going on. A task I thought would be a bit of a pain, no issues at all. Most importantly every member of staff involved was so much fun!!!! It felt like they were extra guests. They both helped with tasks like cutting my cake up and boxing it up, tidying, everything. Value for money was incredible too. A direct sea view venue is something I never thought we could make happen but we were so happy to find The Minnis. I could continue to find compliments but I realise this review is already very long. Overall, best day ever made possible by Jess and the team. Without Jess none of this would’ve been possible, thank you so much Jess and the team!!!

Jade childs Honestly what an amazing place. The food is absolutely incredible, the atmosphere is great and the staff are lovely and just from start to finish half a wonderful time and every single mouthful was just beautiful tasting! Will be back for sure!!

Md Abdullah Al Adnan La Crema is an amazing spot! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was cozy and elegant, perfect for a relaxing meal or a catch-up with friends. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had — highly recommended!
