1 /5 Jessie Willett: ⭐ 1 star – if I could give zero, I would
Absolutely appalling experience from start to finish.
I found a hair cooked directly into my bacon at breakfast. Not lying on top — cooked into it. I informed a member of staff, who said she would “go check” and then never returned. No explanation, no apology, no replacement, no concern whatsoever.
When we went to pay, I reasonably stated that I shouldn’t be expected to pay for food that clearly breached basic hygiene standards. I was then told — rudely — that I still had to pay, but she would give me half off, as if that somehow made the situation acceptable.
To make matters worse, my friend was completely put off eating after the same staff member openly admitted that everything is cooked on the same grill, showing a shocking lack of understanding of food safety and cross-contamination.
This is an open kitchen, so customers can see exactly what’s going on — and what we saw was alarming. The cook had no hair net or beard net, only a hat, and was walking around the restaurant scratching his face before continuing to handle food. Given that, it’s no surprise a hair ended up cooked into someone’s meal.
The final insult was being accused of the hair being ours, despite it being visibly cooked into the bacon. We were then forced into a five-minute argument with an extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional staff member who clearly lacks even basic food hygiene knowledge and customer service skills.
The way we were spoken to was disgusting, defensive, and completely unacceptable. No accountability, no apology — just attitude and blame-shifting.
If you value cleanliness, professionalism, or being treated with basic respect, avoid this place at all costs.
