The Black Horse -

Rating: 4.4 /5
Peter Dangerfield We loved the Black Horse. It is an historic building in a charming quiet village nestling in the South Downs. The public areas are welcoming and interesting with open log fires and comfortable seating. The food is imaginative but also has pub classics. Excellent beer, cider and wine with a good selecton by the glass as well as bottle. Our room was neat and tidy with a huge bed. The staff were unfailingly friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Mrs R Very nice people. The food didnt even take that long and the cook that works the opening was very apologetic about the food taking a little bit of time and offered me some extra kebab to make up for it which made my day! He also took the time to separate the salad from the kebab. Good people.

Ryan Fleming The Castle is just a great place to go on every level! The food is fantastic and genuinely 5 star, whether you pop in for a midweek meal or a Sunday roast. The service is brilliant and all the staff are friendly, warm and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Nothing is ever too much to ask! As for the atmosphere, well that’s just something else and if I could give more than 5 stars I would! At the weekend there is great entertainment scheduled every night (Friday-Sunday), from live singers/bands to karaoke, and it really is top draw! To anyone who hasn’t been, I would definitely recommend you get to The Castle!

Adelfia Brighton - East Sussex

Rating: 4.6 /5
Theresa Baker Amazing birthday celebration at Adelfia. Made even more special by the attentiveness of Andreas and his lovely team. Food was delicious I had sea bass, which the chef pandered to my love of broccoli rather than the traditional salad garnish. It came with delicious triple cooked chips. My husband had lamb chops which he also raved about. Cannot recommend this gem of a restaurant enough.

Valerie Simpson I cannot speak more highly of this wonderful little oasis of calm tucked away in Beach House Park. Seamus and Rachel go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and the food is always top quality. Whether you choose the cosy indoor seating in the winter, the delighful mediterranean style decking in the summer, or the covered marquee when its pouring with rain, you will not be disappointed. For special events, the function room may be hired with delightful views over the park, and the premises even has a licence to host weddings. Why not give it a try?

Helen Hildreth Ems who served us all afternoon was the perfect host. She was attentive, happy, full of energy and couldn’t do enough for us. A great experience with lots of cocktails!!! The food could have been better however. I had the chicken skewers which weren’t great and very bland. Tasted like they had just been warmed up in the microwave as were chewy.
