5 /5 Peter Dangerfield: We loved the Black Horse. It is an historic building in a charming quiet village nestling in the South Downs. The public areas are welcoming and interesting with open log fires and comfortable seating. The food is imaginative but also has pub classics. Excellent beer, cider and wine with a good selecton by the glass as well as bottle.
Our room was neat and tidy with a huge bed.
The staff were unfailingly friendly and efficient.
Highly recommended.
5 /5 Suzanne Brown: Everything was delightful! Wedding rehearsal dinner, breakfast and supper in the charming first floor were excellent - food, service and ambiance. The room upstairs overlooked the village street, bed very comfortable and bath area very clean, modern - housekeeping efficient and pleasant. If I were in the area I would definitely return to the Black Horse!
5 /5 Lorien Bray: We ate a phenomenal dinner here. Each dish was the best wed ever eaten of that type of dish. I especially loved the risotto (fresh, original, and just all around delicious) and pie. The fish was the most tender Ive ever tried. At the end, the chef came out to have a chat with us and his passion and expertise is clear. It translated into an incredible food experience. WOW!
3 /5 Simon Cotterill: 40 minutes before our food order was taken.
Plates were warm but none of the food was hot.
One cauliflower cheese dish to share between 3.
Servers were trying trying their best.
Village/ building/ decor fantastic.
3 /5 Joshua Askew: I am not one to leave bad reviews. The staff were great and it is a very good venue, but the roast was cold and incredibly over-priced. I have had far tastier and better portioned meals for significantly less (One carrot on a £25 roast?!)
Marius Reutas Great Shell stop, friendly staff, had a great chat with Shakemore, nice selection of hot food, including vegetarian Cornish pastie, all the best!! ⛽
H C What a great little find this was. It was recommended by another little cafe, one of our new favourites, who sadly weren’t open. We got the days muddled up over the Christmas holidays.
This is situated just behind the River Thames in Hammersmith and behind Riverside Studios. It also has a sister deli opposite. We almost went there and then we found this.
Such a lovely cafe. Went for breakfast, lovely staff. Great atmosphere and tasty food. The photos looks like the baps are greasy but it’s just the type of roll (bun had a shiney crispy top). Only observation was that the baps were a little small, would be great if they just increased the size of these
Definitely recommend! We will be returning. Thanks goes to Elderflower Press Cafe for suggesting … another very popular cafe.
Khalid Hussein The mixed platter for 2 was great for us the lamb Donna kebab was really good with the rice and we had the Buffalo wings as well The portion I thought was gonna be small but the Buffalo wing portions are really big was surprised The delivery was fast will be ordering again
SB84 Love My Falafel Restaurant! The food is amazing, with large portion sizes and deliciously cooked chicken and salads. The prices are excellent value for money. Cant wait to go back and try more of their tasty dishes!
Kenz journey Came here a couple of times now. I have to say the food is never disappointing.
I will say ask for these three staff members; they are as good as gold. Yes, it was busy, but they will look after you.
Alfarse,
Mahin,
Jess.
They are a star, and the chefs are world-class.
