Crates Local -
j Reviewing the cafe: loved it. We were actually looking at the menu in the window of a different cafe, when we fell into conversation with a woman, and she recommended Crates to us. So thank you, whoever you were.
It’s a quaint and cosy little establishment. They do the sort of things that you might expect a corner cafe to do; but they also sprinkle in some interesting little treats. They also strongly favour local produce. I had a jacket potato with locally sourced crab and prawns - delicious and not something that you often see. Good coffee, good service, good value.
Thinking through what I would normally include in a review of a cafe: there are a lot of vegetarian options on the menu; there isn’t really a children’s menu (but there is a doggy menu); and there are steps into the cafe (but level access to the outdoor tables).
