Catherine Hunt We were staying in Worthing for a few days in July and this was walking distance from our house rental. It’s a beautiful pier with restaurants and art decorations. We lucked out that was a beautiful clear day and we had a glimpse of the sunset.

Ruby Evenado I spent a lovely afternoon at Marine Gardens in Worthing recently, and it is a quintessentially British seaside park. Located at the western end of the seafront, it’s a bit further away from the main pier, which means it escapes the busiest crowds and keeps a wonderfully calm, sophisticated atmosphere. The sunken garden is the highlight. It’s a beautifully landscaped area filled with vibrant bedding plants and sheltered from the coastal winds by tall, clipped hedges. I was particularly impressed by the bowling green—it’s immaculately kept and seeing the locals out in their whites gives the park a real "timeless" feel. There’s also a putting green and a water feature that adds a nice, cooling sound to the gardens on a warm day.
