5 /5 Matthew Ho: I stopped by this lovely cafe for a quick Sunday brunch recently. It’s a cosy space — a little small but very comfortable — and when I got there around noon, it was bustling with people (seems to be popular with the locals). Fortunately I was able to snag a table that had just opened up, as I was dining by myself that day.
I ordered the eggs benedict with bacon for my meal, and it was amazing! Bacon was juicy and crispy without being too dry or oily (and came in a healthy portion), and the eggs were perfectly cooked to a nice runny-ness. The side salad was a nice, lighter touch that complemented the heavier/creamier hollandaise sauce and bacon. Portion size was sooo large, too — I could barely finish.
I also had a hot chocolate, which was yummy. It had a nice depth to it and warmed me up, without the chocolate being too heavy or artificial/sickly sweet.
It was a nice surprise that they didn’t add the ubiquitous 12.5% service charge :)
Service was so warm and friendly, and I had a wonderful experience throughout. I’d love to come back to try their classic English breakfast (seems to be one of their specialities).
