lou burrows Fantastic find. Was in a rush and asked waitress if I could have something fairly fast. Jacket potato and beans and cheese with delicious salad. I asked for takeaway box as running out of time. Fantastic waitress, great food and service.

Alexander Fergusson-Cooper If I could give this place one star I would... They have ruined pizza for me, it was by far the best Ive had, no other will compare. My partner and I shared the nduja/scotch bonnet and the chicken/paneer. Both were truly superb. The dough had a terrific flavour, but the toppings on each were perfectly balanced and flavoursome. We started with the cauliflower hummus - something we await to recreate! The service was outstanding, knowledgeable and friendly, without being over the top, again, a perfect balance. Wine list fantastic and comprehensive (the reason we came here - (fathers a wine merchant!) maître d was knowledgeable and showed us the bottle of wine we were curious about. Atmosphere was warm, welcoming, relaxed, and the use of acoustic tiles on the ceiling work as both an interesting feature and more importantly to reduce the sound in the bar/restaurant. I am hugely disappointed we are only in Portsmouth for an evening - had we live in the vicinity, we would surely adopt The A Bar as a regular venue. A venue for everyone, we were made to feel like long standing customers - warm and welcoming. If ever in Portsmouth again, we will rush back!

Samanta S Beautiful food. Everything tasted super fresh and it was beautifully presented. We ordered different types of seafood and it was gorgeous. For mains I had fish and my husband had mix grilled meat platter. Both were excellent. I went to this little place few years ago and absolutely loved itZ its great to see the quality still remains so high

michael brown I’ve been coming a few times mid week and Sunday roast well all I can say is the food service and quality of produce used is the best on the island appreciate the down turn in foot traffic but the corner bank has standards that shows well done all excellent food excellent service

Tanzy Maylen Great place to eat! Served by a lovely young gentleman called George who provided brilliant services. Food was fantastic and great price. Lovely bubbly team and management working. Overall atmosphere and meal was brilliant!

Hannah We had a late visit to the Beefeater and unfortunately we arrived after last orders. However Jaya was lovely. I asked if it was possible to grab a drink to bring back to our room. Jaya more than happy to help us and provided service in a friendly manner going above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Thank you Jaya we appreciated you ☺️.
