5 /5 Jo Loft: We had the most wonderful dinner at The Pig in Madehurst while celebrating our 40th birthdays, and it truly made the occasion feel special. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and the food was absolutely fantastic—beautifully presented and full of flavour. What really made the evening stand out, though, was the exceptional service. Grace looked after us brilliantly throughout the meal—friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Dan, the manager, also went out of his way to make sure our celebration felt memorable, which we really appreciated. It was the perfect place to celebrate such a milestone, and we left feeling thoroughly spoiled. Thank you to the whole team for a fantastic evening—we can’t wait to come back!

5 /5 Liam Copsey: I rarely write reviews, but The Pig was such a special night away, I’m still smiling 10 days later. The house & gardens are beautiful throughout. From the very beginning we felt very well looked after, and I am very impressed by the casual yet highly attentive approach. Dining experience was 10/10, the comfortable dining room served brilliantly by the kitchen’s extensive onsite garden and vineyard. The shepherds hut was very well appointed and the outdoor shower superb! Great wine list, good cocktails and excellent service all round. Love it.

5 /5 Sam C: Honestly had the BEST birthday here. The staff were all so so friendly and generous with their time. From reception staff to the gardeners, everyone genuinely seemed happy and felt like they cared. Which is so rare. The food as always is incredible. Shoutout Taylor on the bar for giving my girlfriend & I a tour of the whiskeys. Made our night! Will be back

5 /5 Jennifer Spencer: This was a birthday celebration and from the moment we checked-in, I was made to feel special. We were given complimentary bubbly drinks at dinner and a plate of birthday piggy fours. However, the outstanding issue for me was the way as a coeliac I was treated. Every single member of the restaurant staff was clearly aware and even before I asked, I was informed about any gluten issues. Normally I miss out on bread when my husband is offered fabulous home made bread…. This time a gluten free roll arrived without my asking. Even the shortbread which arrived with my post dinner coffee was gf. The staff are fabulous and this all made for a really special celebratory day. Well done Pig!!!!

4 /5 Roger Burrows: We enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly. My wife enjoyed her dinner although I was less fortunate with my choice. Guests are required to make their own toast at breakfast (making it impossible to have a hot cooked breakfast with hot toast). The room could have been improved by having at least one hook to hang a coat on (the cupboard not being deep enough), more than two hangers and a toilet door that closed to. The shower was outstandingly good and the bed comfortable. Finally, the extensive and gratuitous use by some of the younger staff of the adjectives awesome, amazing, and perfect might grate on some guests.
