Flavour of Mauritius - (Near Berkshire, South East)

5 /5 g t: Genuinely the best service I have ever received in my 23 years of life, loveliest couple owns the place and they made me and my mum feel very at home. Bear (their puppy) was a nice surprise as well, he’s our new best friend. The food? Nothing I ever eat again will compare, I will just have to accept that and return there as often as humanly possible. The chef deserves all her flowers, the dishes taste more home cooked than the food I cook at home. Already planning my next time there ☺️☺️☺️☺️

The goat curry and home made coriander chutney was a favourite of mine and we will be back soon to try the seafood boil. Nothing felt rushed and the menu was explained in detail, it felt home from home. Thank you for the lovely experience

5 /5 Caitlin Curthoys: Went after looking for a seafood boil locally. Absolutely, hands down, the best seafood meal of my life. As a South African, finding authentic, homemade (and semi-local!) cuisine bursting with flavour at reasonable prices seems like an insurmountable task. Flavour of Mauritius surpasses everything I’ve been looking for! The owner couldn’t have been more helpful, offering a taste of the sauce prior to the meal to make sure it was to our liking, telling us about every option of their full menu and even offering help on how to tackle opening the crab - which was needed! She was friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much of an ask. With pubs and restaurants struggling everywhere, I cannot recommend enough supporting this place. Absolutely will be back soon! 5 /5 Brian Jones: Small eatry, an easy walk from Reading centre. The cuisine majors on curry style dishes and has an ample selection of drinks - including Blue Marlin beer, a taste for which we developed, when in Mauritius. The service is welcoming and friendly. The Saturday lunchtime that I visited was a long way off being busy. Come on folks, support small independent places like this.
