Simon Bradford Heard about this place, wanted to visit as we were down the road in Roke. The watercress beds is a lovely walk, along the sides and over the bridge, we saw some birds, rabbits, had a walk along the side, saw some amazing houses and enjoyed the sun, fresh air and seeing nature bloom. The place is free to explore so worth having a visit one day!!

Nancy M Another lovely visit to the story museum this week. I’ve been going from time to time since my children were babies and love to see how they access different aspects of the exhibits as they age (and enjoy the new exhibits as things change). We did small worlds and the galleries with a break for lunch this visit. We had a superb time - a calm, educational and fun time together reminding us of some of our favourite books and discovering new ones together. I wasn’t a fan of the video game stories room (breaks the screen- free nature of the visit) I would rather have more of the other stuff! But that aside, we loved it all. James was a fantastic host in the galleries. My daughter wants him to come tell stories at home! He was entertaining and informative and engaged parents and children alike. We enjoy it most when the hosts engage a lot - especially when taking multiple children - it really helps the children get the most from the exhibition. Love that the ethos, books and staff are inclusive and representative of difference too - it helps children to learn about and accept difference in society in a gentle and age-appropriate way. Thank you story museum!

Pete / Hel Designed by George Gilbert Scott, the monument was completed in 1843 after two years work, having replaced "a picturesque but tottering old house". The Victorian Gothic memorial, whose design dates from 1838, has been likened to the steeple of a cathedral, though it was consciously patterned on the Eleanor crosses erected by King Edward I between 1290 and 1294 to the memory of his wife, Queen Eleanor of Castile (1241–1290). Henry Weekes sculpted the three statues of Cranmer, Latimer and Ridley. The statues are carved from Caen stone while the monument itself is made of Magnesian limestone. The monument is listed at Grade II*. Absolutely amazing craftsmanship.

Antonios Petrakis Seven foot tall statue on top of Blackwells Art and Poster Shop on Oxfords Exeter College. The statue is called " Another time II" created by Antony Gormley (well known for his massive "Angel of the North" statue in Newcastle) based on molds taken from his own body. The statues weights half a ton and was the gift of an anonymous benefactor in 2009.

Chris T I’m so glad I didn’t miss visiting the oldest botanical garden in the UK during my one-day trip to Oxford. There are many unique plants that are hard to find elsewhere, and it’s such a peaceful place to walk around. There’s also a small café and a public toilet on site, which is very convenient. I believe the garden must be even more beautiful in the summer, with more flowers and plants in full bloom. Definitely worth a visit!

Stephen Harness Free entrance and extensive grounds. Ruins only. But a nice walk by the Thames. Nearest car parking is extortionate £6.50 for any period, even on Sundays. So park near the cemetery and walk southwards. But the gate is often closed and be warned it closes too early in winter (3pm).
