Marissa Thomas Southwark Park is a total standout. It’s got that grand Victorian feel with the big trees and the bandstand, but it’s totally modern in its facilities. The playground is one of the best in the area for kids, and the art galleries are a hidden treasure. It’s big enough to lose yourself in for an hour, but small enough that it still feels like a neighborhood park. The café is excellent, and even in January, the paths are so clean you can walk it in your best trainers. A proper local jewel.

Carrotcake Hidden behind the massive gates is a gorgous oasis of calm, far from the crazy river ferry frenzy outside. We spent 2 nights, and felt safe and secure. Pre booked berth and entrance time. We where early but fortunately able to enter marina.Warmly welcomed by marina staff. Quiet and peaceful marina. Walking distance to pubs, shops, tube, overground trains, buses, river ferries. Excellent base for exploring London and surrounding areas.

REG Good size park with a range of features in a city centre location. Elevated spots give good views towards Canary Wharf or the city. Very bucolic feeling for a park set within such a built up area.
