Pydiah Rachel (Ramesh Pydiah) The grounds are beautiful, the walks well marked, easy paths. A crystal grotto, Turkish tent, watermill, gazebo looking over the lake and a victorian folly tower. So much to enjoy. Refreshments reasonable and a good selection with seating inside and out. Visiting in late Feb provided a vista of daffodils and drifts of snowdrop. Not too crowded either. Easy carparking and good directions from the A3.

Mark Haines A Grade II listed mausoleum. Built in 1919 by Sir Henry Samuelson for his family. The mausoleum takes the form of a temple with a ribbed dome. The columns support an entablature with inscriptions in English, Greek and Latin. The bronze chest tomb which used to stand under the dome was stolen in 1960. The building is still mostly in good condition but there is evidence of some vandalism and graffiti etched into the stone walls.

Caïna Verrin Lots of heavy metal, water and mechanical whirring. Some nice history and it seems to be well maintained. Absolutely worth a look while wondering the grounds. It still Operates as well which is really cool…just don’t jump on the paddles, they don’t like that.

Will Wearden This place is truly outstanding. We enjoyed a 4 night stay here. Its rooms are immaculate and full of interesting and relevant furnishings and books. The kitchen facilities are amazing, including high quality equipment. The view is gorgeous, though be prepared for the steep stairs throughout. We’d also like to recommend the excellent, fastidious and responsive housekeepers.
