Bella_therapy Corinne R Beautiful place. Next to the marches and the canal. You can take a lovely walk across the countryside. Past Newark lock. There is parking by Newark bridge. You cant actually access the Priory though, as its on private land but you get a good view as you walk past. Its close to the village of Riley. Dont know about toilets though.

Andrew Thomas Beautiful area of heathland that is the highest point in the South Downs National Park. A network of sandy trails leads around the hill, passing heather covered banks, small ponds and impressive pine trees. There are two small free parking areas near the summit but no other facilities, helping keep the area unspoilt. From the top of the hill there are stunning views to the southwest over the wooded hills of Hampshire, southeast along the ridge of the South Downs towards East Sussex, and northeast to the Surrey Hills. The area has a connection to the poet Tennyson at the Temple of the Winds, where you can watch a short video about the area by scanning the QR code on the inscribed stone. A large stone seat provides the ideal place to sit and admire the landscape for a few moments.

Conrad Conrad A beautiful place to experience breathtaking views and serenity. We visited during a misty morning and the surroundings were just magical. Lots of quiet paths and peaceful hikes despite the crowds. Carpark is relatively big, with lots of picnic tables.

David L We had seen Guildford Cathedral from the A3 and finally took the time to stop there. There is free parking, a great little café with free WiFi, and thats before you even get into the cathedral! Started in the 1930s, the cathedral wasnt finished until the 1950s due to World War II. It was consecrated in 1958. It is beautiful: light and airy. The lady who welcomed us (23rd January 2026, around 11.30am) was very friendly.
