Mike Hall If you are in the area when it is actually open, this is a great way to spend 60-90 minutes if you are interested in local history. Phone in advance to ensure that the Hermitage is available. Cost for adults was £2 for the water tower, £2 for the hermitage and included genuinely free tour (no pumping for tips afterwards though donations are gratefully received). It is only open for a few hours on Sunday during the summer months though so once again, phone before you come. It is cash only but there are plenty of cash machines in Carshalton nearby.

Ho Pong To A cosy museum not without pleasant little surprises. Showcase of local history, run by friendly volunteers. Limited car parking lots outside so better come early or on weekdays if you are driving. The museum is free, but you are much welcome to make donations, or visit their cafe, which serves good refreshments.

Samapth Sripathum This park is one of my favorite places to spend time and relax! It’s incredibly green and full of life, with ducks, squirrels, birds, swans, and pigeons all around. It’s perfect for jogging or walking dogs, and there’s a fantastic play area for kids too. If you enjoy photography, this place is a dream with all the natural beauty and wildlife. My favorite part is feeding the squirrels—they’re so friendly and always a highlight of my visits. I come here often to unwind, and it’s truly a peaceful and enjoyable spot!
