Daniel This is a lovely little nature nature reserve that is a former chalk quarry. As you walk through you can still see the remains of the wash mills. There is a small lake at the far end that is full of wildlife. There is loads of wild flowers growing and plenty of wildlife to see. It’s a nice peaceful nature reserve that doesn’t get busy and perfect for a relaxing walk.

Kyn1te XD Deptford Park is a really nice local green space and a good place to relax if you’re in the area. There’s plenty of open space for walking, jogging, or just sitting down and enjoying the fresh air. The park is usually clean and well maintained, and there are benches around if you want somewhere quiet to sit. It’s popular with locals but rarely feels overcrowded, which makes it quite peaceful compared to some bigger London parks. Overall it’s a great spot for a short walk or a break from the busy streets nearby.

sean w jarvis This spot reminds me of Portland Oregon, where food truck meetups are super common. The people who run these little shops are really friendly and helpful, and there’s a lot of different seating formats. The Bar makes delicious (and strong) drinks and the guy is really cool. The Noodle place is tasty and so is the pizza shop.

krish kandiah Super friendly church with a huge heart to serve its local community. Lots of young people and families and also extremely welcoming to older folks too. I loved how multicultural this church is. When I was with them they had an amazing carribean cook out. Visit whenever you can.

Amigo Raaza A charming little park tucked away in Hackney! Stonebridge Gardens is a great spot for families and kids, especially with its standout mosaic snake sculpture and creative playground. There are swings, trampolines, table tennis, a basketball hoop—plenty to keep kids active and entertained. It’s compact but well laid out, and the recent refurb really shows. Only downside is it can get a bit muddy after rain, and there aren’t any toilets or cafés on site, which can be tricky with younger children. Still, it’s clean, feels safe, and has a great local vibe. Super convenient location right by Haggerston Station. A perfect little green space for a play break or relaxed hangout.

Paal Nymann Great spot for a first date

Nick Gazard Mural not a museum but it always makes me smile. It’s both the humour on the chimneys at the top and the ones on the left which you don’t expect and might miss if there’s a food truck on the left. Just take a moment to appreciate the owners who could see the vision and the thought it took to make an otherwise boring wall a fun focal point. I’m sure that I’m missing the meaning of the art, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate and enjoy it. I hope you can too.

Eligijus Rupšys A very nice nature walk. If you go by the sea side you can get to see a washed up old ship !

jeff benjamin This upgraded, re-invented and modernised area with kiddies playground serves mostly as a busy pedestrian through-way. A commendable and worthwhile effort at improving public space and more the pity that some would litter and abuse the amenity.

kerry jay What an awesome place!! Both bar and museum are so quirky and unique and seriously the best cocktail I have ever had (Absentini!). An absolute must visit if you are in the area!

Anand Krishnan Always a fun place to walk my Dog. He loves the place and we find a lot of dogs to socialize. They have a cafe/restaurant. There is a tennis court, basketball court and a play area for kids. Excellent place for a picnic.
