Oliver Liebmann A wonderful place to make a short stop or to experience the sunset on the Isle of Wight. There are surely better place as you cant see the sun itself going under. But its still a beautiful spot.

Andrew Thomas A rare example of a thatched church, and the only one on the Isle of Wight. The building dates from 1908 so isnt particularly old, but is lovingly maintained, with information about its history inside. The church sits on a small plot of land which was donated by Lord Tennyson, at the foot of the hills of Tennyson Down. Inside, the timber framed roof, simple clear windows and light stone walls give the church a friendly atmosphere. Theres roadside parking right outside, and the church is open daily.

Sylvia Wall Although this museum is a tribute to the photographic works of Julia Cameron and other photographers it also has a permanent exhibition of the Isle of Wight Festivals. It features posters and photos largely from the latest 60s and 1970 when Jimi Hendrix played there. Outside in the garden theres a life-size bronze statue of him too. We visited primarily so that my husband could have a photo of himself with the statue!! A big Hendrix fan, he was also keen to find other items relating to him to add to his collection. He wasnt disappointed! The home of Julia Cameron is quite lovely and the views of the Bay are pretty spectacular, particularly as the sea was wild on Thursday with waves breaking over the walls. The tea room also seems to be very popular with locals and visitors and is worth a visit. The photographic displays are good for anyone interested. I liked the ones of Syria and the far east before those areas were flattened during wars. With an entry cost of less than £7 it should be on everyones list of places to see on the Isle of Wight

David56 I live just 15 minutes walk from the causeway near Freshwater bay, its a beautiful place to walk and if you walk the whole distance of the old railway track through to Yarmouth there are lovely vistas of the river as you walk Coming into Yarmouth there are lots of different species of birds to see on the marsh and river. If you are fortunate you may even see some of our red squirrels, they are very shy though.

FLnurseER1 Stumbled upon this Church of England church while unsuccessfully looking for lunch in a nearby establishment. Decided to take a look inside, glad I did. It happens to be a medieval church, one of the oldest on the island. Very picturesque, well maintained inside and out. It has quite an interesting history.

Jenny Snaps We visited here on the 8th June 2025. Its an amazing place to hike on the Tennyson Down! It was a good challenge! And there are a few seats at the top! :) where you can relax and unwind! And munch some food! :) The views are absolutely stunning! And can get very windy when you reach the top so bring something to keep you warm! Definitely a must visit/hike indeed!
