G Wonderful location. Quite even though your not far from Newport. Just stood there listening to the ducks and the water passing. Bliss.

Jean Frost Smith A little oasis in a busy town with lots of history. I walk my dog here twice a day and despite the busy traffic driving past, its a place of calm. The flowering cherry trees look lovely in the spring, two oak saplings have just been planted and there are plenty of benches to sit in the sun. My dog loves the large expanse of grass and meeting other dogs. Theres a small, well-equipped playground for younger children. Theres also a surprising amount of history to the place. Wildlife, too - Ive seen plenty of bird life, including a buzzard.

Luke Meads A hidden gem of a place for nature and wildlife. This has to be one of my favourite places for taking photos of wild orchids or insects such as dragonflies, butterflies or damselflies. Its not an easy place to find - head up Burnt House Lane from the main road and there is a little gap in the fence at the end of the road. Head down the path and youre into a large disused quarry. Be careful for the wet patches that exist! There is a wealth of nature here, you just have to look!

Hannah Fast This castle is well worth the steep hill I took to visit it! Set in peaceful surroundings there are many places to explore. There are ruins you can climb up with hand rails and the views are worth the climb. Walking around the top level is breathtaking and then getting back down is easy if you go slowly! Inside the main castle there are lots of rooms to explore with guided maps and explanations into what rooms they once were. They do a guided ghost tour which is interesting and light hearted. There is also a museum in the grounds. Very good day out.

Mel Martin A very wonderful place. Not the best welcome to an English Heritage site the staff at the admissions were less than helpful. We asked if there were any mobility issues and were told no. We quickly found the castle had many. The history of the castle is interesting. The museum and grounds are well organised. The added donkeys made the property unique! Walking up the many steps gives you amazing views across the landscape. Really enjoyed my visit and would highly recommend it.

Adam Johannes A wonderful day out for kids of all ages (we have four aged 2-11). We managed to get back for a cheap second day with their return offer and still had more things to do, so could have gone back for a 3rd if the weather was better! A beautiful and well looked after facility with an amazing tree-net adventure that kids love. We loved the toboggan, giant slides, boat rides, falconry show, parks, and diggers. We didnt even get to the grill which I would have loved! Its a great place to take the family and only the toboggan and food are extra cost, so once you are there you dont have to spend a lot.

Zara Greenshields We brought tickets on the day, was easy and quick to do. It was raining a little but we had fun seeing the different moneys, owls and other little creatures. It was definitely something to do for a few hours not really a whole day thing and not far from steam railway.
