Forest Gump Great stretch of sand for walking, running and doggy walks (Oct to March only). Check tide times so you can arrive at low tide to best enjoy the whole length of the beach, through to Broadstairs even, before the tide comes back in.

Christine We walked from Margate Beach to Botany Bay Beach along the promenade (about an hour’s walk) and arrived around 6pm. By that time, it wasn’t too crowded as many people were leaving, which made it a peaceful spot to enjoy. The tide was low, but the views were still stunning, especially sitting close to the dramatic white cliffs. The beach was a little littered, likely from the day’s crowds, but overall still very enjoyable. Facilities are convenient with toilets nearby, a lifeguard station, and a bus stop just a 5-minute walk away. The surrounding area is dotted with beautiful residential houses and has a very quiet, relaxing feel. A lovely place to visit if you’re in Kent - perfect for an evening stroll or to unwind by the sea.

Christine Brown Well worth having the tour guide for this little gem. Aran was very knowledgeable and made the trip interesting. I think we would have missed all the little details without him. The building is still being used and it was lovely to see a monk at the doorway. Highly recommend and good value for money.

Jou .L Great museum with friendly volunteers who are extremely knowledgeable about the history of the place. Highly recommended for public transportations lovers. Entrance fee is reasonable as they do need funds to maintain the place. It will help a lot if you could buy something or do a small donation.

James N Superb Museum, great view over Canterbury, interesting items. Cheap to enter. Tickets to enter can be free if you eat at the cafe next door (offer correct at time of writing review).

Jackie Ball A smallish but extremely interesting museum, it was surprising just how deep the Roman level was compared with todays streets. There was plenty to see and read and we werent rushed along by any staff. There were replica shops, as the photos show, and the remains of the floor of a Roman house which was in situ. We spent over an hour wandering slowly through the museum.

Duane Ruth-Heffelbower The performance is 40 minutes, the first and last ten live and the rest recorded. The sets are well done, with lighting guiding the way through the stories. The staff was very polite and enthusiastic. We even had to ask for our senior discount and were 70.

Simon Brett History speaks from its walls! Excellent guide available on arrival, which allows you to walk around the church and gain knowledge on its significance. Volunteer was welcoming and passionate to share on its history. Church yard is peaceful to walk around, with lovely views of the cathedral in the distance. Check opening times in advance to plan your visit.

Rifa Adelisa This place was one of the highlights of our time in Canterbury. The garden is stunning, offering scenic views and a calm peaceful river. It’s also close to the city centre. We enjoyed every moment we spent there.

Nilza Bhikha Absolutely loved it. Stone bay beach is just short walk from Viking bay. But it’s just a beautiful and quiet beach. I enjoyed it a lot. The only problem was seaweed! Too much of it in certain areas. But the marked swimming areas were good with not much seaweed. Overall enjoyed spending the morning and early afternoon there. We did have to walk to Viking bay to find food. Tip: if you get there nice and early on a weekend, there is free parking on the Eastern Esplanade.

David Seabrook A lovely beach to visit in the summer with clean sand safe waves and a crab pool. Theres a great ice cream shop and often entertainments on the band stand. But this time we were there for the fireworks!

Benjamin Cawdery A hidden oasis in Canterbury! These gardens are beautiful, you enter them and instantly escape any noise from the high street. It is so peaceful there! And the gardens themselves are great. Definitely worth coming to if you feel like getting away from the crowds and being in a picturesque peaceful place. It also has an interesting history!

Ari K Ashkenazi It so happened that we were visiting Ramsgate today. I did not know about this shul until I saw it from afar. At first I could not believe my eyes, as I thought I was seeing a shul, but then I doubted myself, thinking that there could not possibly be one here. Apparently, visits must be prearranged, so we shall certainly return.
